Sir, With due respect I would like to draw your attention to a very alarming incident that is deforestation in my locality. I will be very grateful to you if you publish my letter on your renowned daily newspaper considering its emergency.

Deforestation : End of Civilization

Nokla is one of the popular and famous upazilas of Sherpur district. As it is very near to the city, it is growing fast and the bad effects of urbanization are destroying its climate. There was a green sight in this upazila once upon a time but it's just fading day by day. The unused lands and forests are being used and cut down to establish industries specially garments factory. Brick-kilns are also cutting down trees to expand their brick fields and for fire woods. But the latest incidents are very alarming. A group of smugglers are cutting down the trees and taking them away every night. Trees are the storehouse of carbon dioxide. Cutting down trees will increase carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect has also an adverse effect on deforestation. For the last few years it's not raining much in the rainy season and the heat in the summer is increasing day by day. We don't have a moderate weather rather very hot summer, rainless rainy season and chilly winter. These are happening only for deforestation. People in this locality know about the bad effects of deforestation but they are victims of the owners of brick-kilns and factories to cut down trees against their money and political power. Moreover, the group of smugglers cannot be stopped without higher authorities. So through this letter I would like to draw the attention of the law enforcement agency to stop wood-smuggling and the local authority to organize a seminar to make the people aware of planting more trees and adverse effect of deforestation.
