Adam Levine is an American singer, songwriter, and television personality. He is best known as the lead vocalist for the pop rock band Maroon 5.

Levine was born on March 18, 1979 in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley and attended Brentwood School, where he formed a band with some of his classmates called Kara's Flowers. After graduating from high school, Levine attended Five Towns College in Long Island, New York, where he studied music.

Kara's Flowers released their first album, The Fourth World, in 1997, but it was not a commercial success. The band broke up shortly thereafter, and Levine moved back to Los Angeles. He eventually formed Maroon 5 with some of the former members of Kara's Flowers, as well as some new musicians.

Maroon 5 released their debut album, Songs About Jane, in 2002. The album was a huge commercial success, reaching the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart and selling more than 10 million copies worldwide. The album's lead single, "Harder to Breathe," became a hit, and the band won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005.

Since then, Maroon 5 has released several more albums, including It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2010), Overexposed (2012), V (2014), and Red Pill Blues (2017). The band has had numerous hit singles, including "Makes Me Wonder," "Moves Like Jagger," and "Sugar."

In addition to his work with Maroon 5, Levine has also released solo material and collaborated with other artists. He has written and produced songs for other artists, including Britney Spears and Rihanna, and has appeared as a coach on the singing competition show The Voice.
